Kaira Whitehead has become one of Atlanta’s most promising and diverse talents, with notable film and TV appearances in nationa hits such as Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married?, House of Payne on TBS, and Max Lucado’s 3:16: Stories of Hope.

A naturally talented young lady, Kaira is truly a personality that fits comfortably secure in the heart of everyone she meets. Kaira is an absolute talent in front of the camera as well as behind the scenes. Amazingly she commands the audience with an authoritative wisdom and meticulous erudition. There is definitely more than meets the eye for this young beauty. Her love and commitment for entertainment sets her apart from being one of those “here today, gone tomorrow” actresses. Kaira has always wanted to be of service to people on a larger scale and through acting she can
finally achieve this. To many who have encountered Kaira in action, this is what she was born to do. Kaira, whose motto is, the greater the risk, the greater the reward loves to be challenged. It is the challenge of life that drives her to do the things that only few can dream.

Kaira made her first major feature film debut in the 2006 Sundance film Somebodies, for which she received a ‘Thumbs Up’ Award from film critic Roger Ebert, who called her ‘a natural.’ On stage, Kaira is a member of Atlanta’s premiere sketch comedy ensemble, Sketchworks, and also starred in a one-year run in the longest running play in Atlanta history, Peachtree Battle. Other theater credits include For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf, Vagina Monologues, A Raisin in the Sun, Before It Hits Home, and Blues for an Alabama Sky. Her upcoming projects include One Missed Call, opposite Ed Burns, and the TV sitcom Somebodies, which will air in the Summer of 2008 as the first original scripted sitcom in the history of Black Entertainment Television. Kaira can also be seen in the Bottom of the Net Filmworks production of “Grapes on a Vine” set to be released next year. Grapes on a Vine is a thriller set in the suburbs of Atlanta. Look for Kaira next summer as she will be reprising the role of Jordan Prescott in the sequel “Grapes on a Vine 2 : Bonnie & Clyde”.
